New Year, which is to some a new start of a period ahead - a new season, has brought about some changes, if not only one. "when a change come, some species feel the urge to migrate", says Dr. Suresh.

In one way or another, we, humans, migrate; move from one state of being onto another. We bring new resolutions to the surface, we plan new paths, we create new ways.. a new person.

"The ancient message comes, calling the kindred to take flight and gather together." Some with their friends, others with families. They unite, even for one moment, to answer to calling, being "pulled to a far-off place", to meditate on what they have done well and not.

Only then can we "hope to survive the cruel season to come".
Deep down we know, we always knew, that nothing is going to be easier. Deep down, we want things to be more challenging, more difficult; more "cruel".

That a new year actually is.
A head start to realize that nothing is going to be easier, that what to come is even cruel.
A moment to meditate on strategies to prevent ourselves from being extinct; of the fellowship that holds us together, of our friendship, of our families, or of anything that relates, that connects us to the world.

It has always been about survival; that is evolution all about.
Survive New Year everyone!

ridwan is sick

ridwan, a student of mine, got hit in an unexpected accident. he is now hospitalized.
the aborigines believe that each time someone takes your picture, you lose a part of your life.
but, what they don't know, if someone sick is taken his picture next to a healthy man, he is gaining that man's energy. so that he'll recover sooner.
but, that's just me being superstitious.
the fact is, if this silly act can make him laugh inside his heart, he is happier. and happy man recovers faster.

New Friends

Today, we had lunch together at home. There were many brothers and sisters from the congregation who joined us. It was exciting, well it's been a while since last time we had this kind of stuff, but hey, that's not all!

There were five cute, and smart girls from abroad - Guangzhou?; I am not sure, I can't pronounce it right -let alone, spell? lol. Anyway, mbak Dani (Joey) brought them to our sunday meeting the other day and my mom happened to invite them to today's lunch. Well, they did come. AND that was COOL.

I love meeting new people (otherwise you won't find me typing this long in this blog) and I don't meet new people often [well, you know, my routine keeps me busy all the time, i hardly have time to hang out with anyone. shoot, i hate it].

So, there they were. Maria (curious and friendly. *ah), Sasya (the explicative girl. lol), Fajar (so cute. trust me.), Amalia (hmm. thoughtful.) and Saskia (she really loves eating. but hey, who doesn't!). I figure they're probably nicknames they made up for themselves.Yet, they are smart and cute. 

I really wish I could keep in touch with them even after the lunch. It's just awesome; but perhaps, they just see me as another local people not worth remembering. I mean, I often forget important people's names (and sometimes, faces); there are more reasons than not for this group of cute and smart girls to just knock me out off their memories. lol.

i like watching movies; but, when there's no more movie to watch, i suppose i'd just watch this ceiling which heightens the level of claustrophobic syndromme while listening to some songs which make it no better.

i thought the more toys i have the happier i will be. i was right.
it is surely merrier; yet, it's still there. the clouding sadness that resides on top of my loneliness.
it crossed my mind: maybe i really need a friend; a girlfriend -perhaps.

terang saja, krn mengoperasikan komputer saja blm sempat bisa, kebingungan dan kepanikan dalam setiap pencetan tombolnya menghebohkan suasana rumah.
